Carla Brooks is a devoted wife who cared for her sick husband Carl for 20 years after his stroke. After he passed away last year, Carla felt that her life no longer had any meaning. It was then that her son Barton Brooks had a great idea. Barton looked in an old photo album and found some old postcards from a trip to Europe in 1962.
Trip
The son had a great idea to thank his grieving mother. He invited her on a trip to Europe. Mother and son traveled to 20 countries, one country for each year she took care of his father.
During the trip, Barton hoped to help his mother cope with her sadness after his father's long illness. So he started planning his surprise.
The story of a caring son
"After a debilitating stroke, my mother cared for my disabled father 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 20 years," he writes on his blog.
"As far as I can remember, whenever she did something spectacular, he would jokingly say, 'How did you do that? You're just a little girl from Kamas! (Yuta)" and it always made her smile.
"But now that he was gone, she was completely shattered and lost her reason for being. I wanted to see if I could change that by taking her on a grand adventure because I think it's time to find this little girl from Kamas and prove to her that life is beautiful," the guy continues.
Change of scenery as a way to reset
According to psychologists, travel helps to get through hard times and look at life differently. A change of scenery is a kind of reset.

Thanks to a caring son, the woman was able to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding reality. And understand that you need to live on. For those who love her. She saw that she was able to raise a wonderful son who supported her during the most difficult period of her life.
Light sadness
During the trip, the woman felt light sadness, remembering the time when she visited European countries with her beloved husband. And she understood that the memory would remain forever, and her love for her husband was stronger than the circumstances.
After returning home, Carla Brooks again took up housekeeping. To prove to herself that the "little girl from Kamas" can overcome a lot for the sake of those dear to her heart.
Such women, who know how to devote their lives to loved ones, deserve respect and support. It's nice to see the smile on Carla's face again.
