Drug "Ibuprofen": instructions for use

Depending on the disease and its degree, as well as on the age of the patient, the required dose of medicine is prescribed, for each case separately.

1. Inside after eating, adults should take the medicine in the following dosage:

  • for psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis - 400-600 mg three or four times within 24 hours;
  • arthritis rheumatoid - 800 mg three times a day;
  • with sprains, as well as in the presence of soft tissue injuries, from 1.6 g to 2.4 g per day is prescribed, the dose is divided into several doses;
  • to reduce body temperature above 39.2 oC, take the drug at the rate of 10 mg per 1 kg of body weight once a day.

2. Suspension is used at 5-10 mg three times a day:

  • children in the first year of life, starting from the age of three months, the medication should be prescribed only by a doctor, the amount is approximately 50 mg, the frequency is three to four times a day;
  • Children 1 to 3 years 100mg three times a day;
  • 4 to 6 years 150mg three times a day;
  • seven to nine years old - increase to 200mg three times a day;
  • if the child is ten to twelve years old, then the amount of the drug increases to 300 mg three times a day.

3. Drops for internal use and rectal suppositories are also prescribed for each case individually, depending on the age and body weight of the patient.

4. Cream and gel for external use are applied to the affected area several times a day.

Note

The maximum amount of medication per day for adults should not exceed 2.4 g.

Contraindications

Like any other medicine, there are certain contraindications for the drug "Ibuprofen".
