Angina is different…

Everyone has heard about angina, but not everyone is aware that sometimes there is angina without fever. It turns out that this disease has several types, and each is treated differently. One of them is catarrhal angina (without temperature, or with its slight increase). It is this disease that will be discussed today.

Angina without fever - symptoms

- weakness;

- headache of varying intensity;

- sore throat, aggravated by swallowing;

- swollen tonsils, with redness;

- soreness in the region of the lymph nodes, aggravated by pressure;

- feeling of soreness (dryness) in the throat;- plaque on the tonsils, purulent formations (this is already purulent tonsillitis, without fever, however, this disease proceeds not so rare).

As you can see, the symptoms are almost the same as with ordinary sore throat. The only difference is the lack of temperature.

Causes of sore throat

1. Virus. Angina without fever, as a rule, is caused by viruses (the disease is infectious, transmitted by airborne droplets). You can become infected by drinking from someone else's glass, by kissing, or even by being close to an already sick person.

2. Severe cough.

Viruses cause inflammation, a person, succumbing to a natural defensive reaction, begins to cough, which irritates the throat. The more intense the cough, the more irritation.

3. streptococcal infection. In this case, the virus can cause temperature fluctuations, cause painful ulcers on the lips, gums, cheeks, and throat.

4. Adenoviruses. A group of other viruses that also cause sore throat. But with such an etiology of angina, complications are possible - pneumonia, otitis media. In addition to pain in the throat, the disease is accompanied by cough, runny nose, pustules on the tonsils. Vomiting, rash and even mild diarrhea are sometimes observed.

Angina without fever: treatment

You need to start, as with any disease of this kind, with bed rest. During illness, you will have to adhere to a diet that excludes foods that irritate the throat (sour, s alty, spicy). The main requirements for food are usefulness, enrichment with vitamins, easy digestibility. Taking antibiotics without a doctor's prescription is not worth it, because this can go not for good, but - on the contrary - to the detriment. By the way, angina without fever is often treated without the use of medications, or therapy involves a minimum amount of drugs. What is the best thing to do in this case?

1. Gargle. As often as possible, especially in the early days (at least once every hour and a half). Decoctions of St. John's wort, sage, oak bark, eucalyptus, chamomile are simply ideal for rinsing - they both soften and relieve inflammation. As an antiseptic, "sea water" works: in a glass of warm water, you need to dissolve a teaspoon of s alt and five drops of iodine. You will also get an excellent result from rinsing with chlorophyllipt (to prepare a solution, mix a glass of water and a tablespoon of alcohol chlorophyllipt). This remedy simultaneously disinfects, relieves inflammation, and heals wounds. You can also use a solution of furatsilina.

2. Between rinses, the use of Strepsils, Falimint, Septolete, various sprays (Ingalipt, Anginal, Hexaspray, etc.) is allowed.

3. Keep your legs and throat warm (knit a woolen scarf, put on socks). Additionally, alcohol compresses can be placed on the throat area, but they are not left overnight. Please note that such measures can only be taken if there is no temperature!

4. Reception of immunomodulators and antibiotics. However, the doctor prescribes them, focusing on your condition. The course - if it is assigned - must be completed in full. "Healed" catarrhal angina can lead to rheumatism, tonsillitis, myocarditis, glomerulonephritis. The return of the disease is not excluded, but then it will not be possible to get rid of simple rinses and sprays, serious therapy will be required.
